104/22 Police Liaison Report
A report had been circulated by the Clerk. It was noted that there had been an
increased police presence at the beach. Clerk to thank PS MacDonald

Notification that subject to weather conditions work to commence on 16 January
2023. Clerk to inform church warden.

It was proposed by Cllr Rand and Seconded by Cllr Wilson that the cleaner be paid a
retainer of £6 for the 10 days the toilets had to remain closed due to extreme cold
temperatures

110/22 Village Matters

110/22.1 Silecroft beach car park, toilets and mobile unit
Cllr Rand reported that post the cold snap there had been leaks in the toilets which
had been repaired. Internal painting had been completed and a letter of thanks to be
forwarded to HMP Haverigg.

110/22.2 Silecroft beach proposed new café
Councillors expressed concerns regarding the lack of progress and information from
Copeland BC re the proposed new café. Clerk to contact Eric Barker raising a
number of concerns expressed by councillors including the impact of the project
under the new Authority on 1 April 2023

110/22.3 Play inspection report
Clerk reported that the Prison have agreed to maintain tennis court and cut back
vegetation.

110/22.4 GDF
Cllr Cumming reported that there was a meeting on 11 January 2023.
Resolved to distribute a questionnaire to all properties within the parish. SAE to be
included with a response by 30 January 2023.
Clerk to post out to all properties. Clerk will be reimbursed for time and to do a
breakdown of costs
Proposed by Cllr Cumming, seconded by Cllr Rand for purchase of 2nd class stamps,
and to pay Clerk for additional hours.
Cllr Cumming to seek reimbursement from GDF

110/22.5 30mph Speed Limit – Silecroft

110/22.6 Defib – Silecroft
Cllr Millar to contact electrician who has undertaken works at Silecroft VH to install
electrics

110/22.7 Hidden Gems
Cllr Cumming has circulated seeking examples

110/22.8 Reinstate lamp post Silecroft Play area
Light now installed

Cllr Fell to arrange a date

113/22. Councillor Matters
An opportunity for Councillors to raise minor matters, not on this agenda, on behalf of
residents
(Note. No discussion or decisions can be made on these matters but the Clerk may make
investigations and/or they may be placed on a future agenda of the Council
• Cllr Millar requested to that Sustainability and Zero Carbon be placed on the
February agenda

114/22. DATE OF NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Wednesday 1 February 2023 at Kirksanton
Village Hall commencing at 7.30pm
