There is still an increase of patrols which is having an impact on unsociable behavior

125/21.1 Church car park
Base laid, awaiting application of top layer of tarmac. Clerk to inform contractor of
Sunday Church Service. Contractor to be asked to quote for stone for top part of car
park.

129/22.3 To receive and note the bank reconciliation statement
None received

129/22.4 To consider the Budget Comparison Report as at 31 January 2023 and
determine action need to address deviations from the budget.
The Clerk reported there would be an overspend on Clerks salary and PAYE.

130/22 Village Matters

130/22.1 Silecroft beach car park, toilets and mobile unit
Heavy horses are requesting a post and rail to tie horses to. Resolved to approach
another contractor to replace the fencing.
Letter of thanks to prison for maintaining the car park

130/22.2 Silecroft beach proposed new café
Mr Barker gave an update on the café project. Work to commence 13 February 2023
with completion expected late September 2023.
Clerk reminded him that the Parish Council were still awaiting the Licence Agreement
for signing.
Press release discussed and amended
! week’s notice to be given by contractors if car park has to be closed short term.
Clerk to inform fishermen and horse riding companies re plans put in place.
Clerk to pursue cost of installation of 3 phase electricity supply and submit for grant
funding.

130/22.3 Play inspection report
Remaining works deferred to Spring

130/22.4 GDF
Clerk reported that there had been an approx. 60% response rate to the survey.
Agreed that the count of the votes would be undertaken by the Internal auditor.

130/22.5 30mph Speed Limit – Silecroft
Clerk reported that this to be discussed at the next speed meeting to be held by CCC
Highways

130/22.6 Defib – Silecroft
Cllr Millar to pursue installation of electrics.

130/22.7 Coronation
Resolved to offer £300 to Silecroft and Kirksanton Village Halls towards costs of
hosting events.
Resolved to order china coronation mugs for all children.

130/22.8 Gabion Baskets
Research shows that originally installed by Millom District Council. Clerk to pursue
with Copeland BC.
Concrete plinth by ramp requires supporting. Prices for Gabion baskets to be
obtained

130/22.9 Clerks Appraisal
To be undertaken 8 February 2023

131/22 To receive reports from representatives on outside bodies

132/22 CORRESPONDENCE:
To discuss any correspondence received for open discussion:
All other correspondence to be circulated in the normal manner for Council’s perusal

133/22. Councillor Matters
An opportunity for Councillors to raise minor matters, not on this agenda, on behalf of
residents
(Note. No discussion or decisions can be made on these matters but the Clerk may make
investigations and/or they may be placed on a future agenda of the Council
• Cllr Rand reported that the solar PV on the new light is facing east not south. Clerk
to contact company to arrange re-alignment

• Cllr Millar requested that the phone box be placed on the March agenda
• Cllr Millar requested that Zero carbon and actions be placed on the March Agenda

134/22. DATE OF NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Wednesday 1 March 2023 at Silecroft
Village Hall commencing at 7.30pm
