Work now completed. Clerk has submitted the claim for the balance of the monies.
There was an overspend on the original budget due to material price rises and
additional works on the drain. Review requirement for additional stone at edges in
the Autumn.

The member of public raised questions around the impact of the proposed GDF on
the community especially house prices and potentially compulsory purchase. Cllr
Cumming to raise with the Community Partnership

144/22.3 To receive and note the bank reconciliation statement 5 February 2023

144/22.4 To consider the Budget Comparison Report as at 28 February 2023 and
determine action need to address deviations from the budget.
The Clerk reported that excluding the cost of resurfacing Whicham Old School car
park that other spends overall were within budget
145/22 Village Matters
145/22.1 Silecroft beach car park, toilets and mobile unit
Fencing completed. Dog waste bin to be relocated. Donation box to be located at
top end of car park Cllrs Rand and Sharp to undertake.
Response had been received from CBC re repairs to the gabion baskets located at
the bottom of the steps. Cllr Fell to arrange that the concrete overhang at the ramp
to be removed.
1100 waste bin ordered for season
Art work – councillors had not been consulted on or made aware of the proposed art
work installation. A letter of concern to be sent to CBC
145/22.2 Silecroft beach proposed new café
Resolved to accept quotation for installation of 3 phase electricity to existing box
Proposed Cllr Sharp, Seconded Cllr Lowery
Resolved that the PC would not take responsibility for the utility connections to the
new build.

Clerk to change electricity to contractors
Clerk to request monthly meetings
Annual Parish Meeting to be held on 27 March 2023 – Residents to give views on
café opening ours etc. prior to meeting with CBC to discuss café operators.
145/22.3 Play inspection report

Clerk reported that the survey results which had been verified
Return rate of 62.78%, Yes votes 15.15%, No votes 76.62%, Neutral 6.49%, Blank
forms 1.73%
Resolution: that the Parish Council accept the results of the survey conducted in
January 2023 and will continue to represent the Parish at the South Copeland
Community Partnership in line with the views of the Parish.
Cllr Cumming to forward a copy of the results and the comments made by residents
to the South Copeland Community Partnership

Clerk reported that this to be discussed at the next speed meeting to be held by CCC
