Previously circulated. It was noted that patrols are still occurring on Silecroft beach

A representative from the fishing club requested permission to place an advertising
board Next to the toilets. Clerk advised that planning consent may be required.
A member of the public raised an issue of conflict of interest by Cllr A Pratt
(Cumberland re the GDF.

The Clerk reported that donations were down £1157.85 on the previous year.
Still awaiting confirmation of the balance of the grant money having been received.

158/22.4 To consider the Budget Comparison Report as at 31 March 2023 and
determine action need to address deviations from the budget.
The Clerk gave a final report on the budget, excluding the cost of the resurfacing of
Whicham School Car park (£27084) some grant funding received and replacing the
fencing at Silecroft Beach car park (£5220) the balances of which would be taken
from reserves, there was an underspend on budget of £3075.14

159/22.1 Silecroft beach car park, and toilets
Car park – bottom part priority parking for disabled, fishing boats and horses, signage
to be purchased. Do not block access signage to be purchased
Clerk to write to Heavy Horses and Fishing group re parking
It was noted that the security fencing had again blown over.
Request for an advertisement board – planning permission may be required.
Report of a dangerous object on the beach being investigated
Clerk requested that the donation boxes be refurbished.
Seagull proof bins awaiting the purchase of a suitable lorry by Cumberland Authority

An opportunity for Councillors to raise minor matters, not on this agenda, on behalf of
residents
(Note. No discussion or decisions can be made on these matters but the Clerk may make
investigations and/or they may be placed on a future agenda of the Council
• Cllr Cumming reported that portholes required filling on the village green roadway
Clerk to obtain price for 2 dumpy bags of stone to infill
• Cllr Fell reported litter was building up in the 2 lay byes on the A595 near Whitbeck.
Clerk to contact prison re a litter pick
• Cllr Rand reported that the solar light was still pointing in wrong direction
