Cllr Cumming reported that she had had problems reporting an incident involving scrambler bikes at Kirksanton.
Cllr Fell reported that a vehicle had been involved in an incident which he reported but no police presence.
Cllr Tyson reported increase in speeding traffic in early hours.

Member of the public requested that the beach café be alcohol free, not open on an evening and be monitored re takeaway foods and food packaging.
Coastal art installation was poorly advertised and therefore restricted those who might have gone.
Coastal path – overgrown and impassable from golf course towards Millom
Concerns expressed about the speed of vehicles when grass cutting.
44/23 Report from Unitary Authority Councillor
Cllr Pratt reported that the first South Cumberland Partnership meeting is to be held w/c 10 July 2023 at Cleator Moor to discuss priority funding
Community Network Panel to meet in October with Parish Councils invited, venue to be arranged.
Abbeyfield at Bootle not closing. Looking at options of selling to a larger chain and expand current services.
Police inactivity – meeting with Police Commissioner w/c 10 July 2023 to discuss rural policing

47/23 Village Matters
47/23.1 Silecroft beach car park, and toilets
Chair reported back on the meeting with the planning officer re the car park.
Planning application to be submitted to extend the car park, install 3 Electric Vehicle charge points and 5 electric hook-up points.
Resolved to apply for 3 phase electrical supply

Clerk reported to Cumberland re contractors’ vehicles parking on car park and obscuring disabled parking bays.
47/23.2 Silecroft beach proposed new café
Clerk reported that letter of withdrawal has been acknowledged and awaiting a response from Cumberland
Cllr Pratt reported that Cumberland are still committed to delivering the café but looking at internal costings, deadlines and outcomes.
Clerk to arrange a meeting with new Cumberland contact to discuss.
Clerk reported that the contractors had not paid the electricity or water bills to date and was awaiting new meter readings

Play inspection notified for August. Clerk contacted a local joiner for a replacement gate

Cllr Cumming gave a report. A road map with various assessments to be produced and placed on GDF website. Report on Community Investment funding. Engaging with young people. Queries – local contact Centre nor centrally based

Clerk produced a map of where the gabion baskets would be located.

Cllr Millar reported that she was investigating grants for solar/boilers etc.
Community Energy grants relevant to Village Halls.
Cllr Cumming reported that Kirksanton Village Hall has had solar panels fitted and storage batteries.

• Cllr Cumming raised issue of parking at junction with King Bill pub. Clerk to raise with police
• Cllr Wilson reported that all coronation mugs had now been distributed by herself and Cllr Jopson
• Cllr Cumming reported that a South Copeland Partnership meeting (not GDF) was planned for Friday 14 July 2023
• Cllr Millar gave her apologies for the September meeting
