66/21 Pop-up Café
Information was shared with Trudy Harrison MP regarding the status of the
pop-up café. Her opinion was sought by councillors on her perception of the
legality of the café.
Councillors presented the facts to Mrs Harrison as to the decision making
process undertaken which led to the refusal to renew the licence with the CIC
and the café operator’s refusal to abide with notices served to quit.
Mrs Harrison stated that she had not been made aware of all the facts prior to
her visit with the café operator and was unaware that they were trading
illegally. She suggested that the Parish Council sought assistance in this matter
from Pat Graham, Chief Executive of Copeland Borough Council and Richard
Leife CE of LDNP.
Mrs Harrison was given a copy of the latest Food Hygiene Inspector’s report
which showed that the pop-up café had only received a 1 star rating, with cause
for concern.
Mrs Harrison expressed her gratitude of the work of the Parish Council and had
sympathy for their current difficult situation.
67/21 Electricty Supply
Mrs Harrison was informed of the difficulty of being able to install EV charge
points at the beach because of the lack of 3 phase electricity supply and
councillors asked for her support in promoting this.
68/21 DATE OF NEXT MEETING – to confirm the next meeting will be Wednesday 1st
September 2021 commencing at 7.30pm in Silecroft Village Hall.
