Land at Silecroft
The Clerk reported that a negative response had been received from the LDNP
to the Parish Council’s offer. The Clerk instructed to contact LDNP again as to
the progress of the sale.

76/21 County Councillor and Borough Councillor reports
Cty Cllr Hitchen had sent a report that works were expected to start on 13
September 2021 on the footpath from the station to the beach. The Clerk
confirmed that permission had been granted to the contractor to use part of the
beach car park as a site compound for the works.

The Clerk reported that there was an overspend in Council expenses due to
legal costs as yet there was not a final amount.

PKF Littlejohn, auditors and that the relevant notices had been placed on the
website and notice boards.
79/21 PARISH MATTERS
79/21.1 Silecroft Beach Front car park and toilets

After discussion it was resolved to remove the portable disabled toilet at the
end of the contract 27 September 2021, the clerk to notify the hirer.
Cllr Rand asked that some stone be placed at the entrance to the car park.
There had been complaints of beach buggies on Silecroft beach driving
recklessly. The Clerk to ask Copeland BC what was the official policy regarding
vehicles on beaches.
Cllr Cumming reported that quad bikes had been observed on Kirksanton beach
which could have a negative impact on Wading birds nesting in the dunes which
was part of the RAMAR site.
The electricity and water to be disconnected from the portable cabins and to be
removed to Unit 3 by 10 September 2021.
It was noted that the Pizza van parks partly on CBC land and partly PC land. To
clarify with owner re license
Clerk to contact ice cream vendor again re sale of ice cream on beach.
79/21.2 Proposed Silecroft Beach Cafe
Cllr Cumming reported that there was no definite start date as yet but could
now be mid October. Councilors expressed dismay at this delay by Copeland
BC.

The Clerk reported that work was to commence on 13 September 2021 and that
permission had been granted to the contractor for a small compound at the
entrance to the car park

It was noted that a presentation would be on 3 September at Silecroft in the

82/21 Councilor Matters
Cllr Wilson reported that a local resident with early on-set dementia was
causing damage and being a nuisance in the local community. This
individual is being monitored by the appropriate authorities.
83/21 DATE OF NEXT MEETING – to confirm the next meeting will be Wednesday 6th
October 2021 commencing at 7.30pm in Kirksanton Village Hall.
